Founded in 2025 by Madeline Woo, acclaimed premiärdansare, MADDWOO was born from disruption — from the refusal to conform. Founder Madeline Woo’s transcendent background in fashion and dance, her intuitive edge, distressed style and extensive body art offer a break from the expected — proving that rigorous tradition and radical self-expression can creatively coexist. We treat design as a practice informed by deep reflection on the intersection and interface of clothing, self-representation and human movement. By transforming movement into form and emotion into structure, each piece embodies that tension between freedom and discipline.
Every element of the brand — its identity, visual language, its garments, its ethos — has been conceived with intention and care. The logo and iconography, originally derived from the initials of our wordmark MW and abstracted by in house designer Daniela Doe Silva, transforms the brand name into a skeletal crest. Resembling a butterfly, it represents the structural foundation of tradition metamorphosed into a new, exuberantly defiant form.
Each collection begins as a silhouette imagined by Madeline Woo, then refined and brought to life by our research and development team. From concept to construction, every garment is hand-crafted by artisans, where each stitch, fold, and finish is guided by a reverence for detail. MADDWOO’s process honors slow creation—each piece informed by material remnants and deadstock, shaped by hand, made to endure, and built to carry the quiet confidence of thoughtful design, proving that luxury can be found in the rebuilt, repurposed, and remade.
