Our philosophy is rooted in continuous, measurable evolution. Much as human movement harnesses innate physical resources to create individual expression, our practice asks: how we can use what already exists to create elegant, luxurious silhouettes while minimizing or eliminating waste?
We utilize smart sourcing, deconstruction, and upcycling not just as a sustainability practice, but as an artistic signature. By allowing the past to inform the future—using deadstock, scraps, and vintage silhouettes—the aesthetic of our garments becomes an organic by-product of their rebirth. Sustainability is not merely a requirement; it is a driver of innovation woven into every choice we make.
Sustainability is a ultimately a choice. Our priority is integrity. We are thrilled to utilize Sweden and Europe’s rich history in fashion, and textile production to create a hyper-local ecosystem. We aim to transform and innovate traditional industry practices with by re-utilizing upwards of 80-90% of our fabrics, hardware, and materials. Partnering with Gemme Collective and XV Production and other Swedish and European circularity focused collaborators allows us to pivot toward a largely made-to-order model. This ensures we produce only what the community demands—eliminating overproduction and waste at the source.
At MADDWOO, ethics are a practice, not a policy. We uphold an rigorous internal standard rooted in fairness, competitive wages, and safe environments. Beyond our walls, we partner exclusively with vendors who share our values, requiring full transparency and cultural integrity. Together, we are crafting not only garments but a better way of working.
